Curriculum reference
Senior secondary subjects by state, with what each subject covers and a direct link to its 2024 ATAR scaling page. Sourced from the published syllabus authorities; cross-linked to the ATAR data.
Tutoring.net.au is not the curriculum authority. NESA, VCAA, QCAA, SACE Board, and SCSA are. This page links to the official syllabus pages where the actual course documentation lives — plus our own per-subject ATAR scaling pages for the data view.
HSC (NESA)
Year 11–12 Higher School Certificate. ~44 subjects with full UAC scaling data.
VCE (VCAA)
Victorian Certificate of Education. ~80 study units with VTAC scaling.
QCE (QCAA)
Queensland Certificate of Education. 42 General subjects + 25 Applied subjects with QTAC scaling.
WACE (SCSA)
Western Australian Certificate of Education. 68 courses with TISC per-subject scaling.
SA
Per-subject curriculum guide for SACE (SA, syllabuses published by SACE Board) is not yet structured as a curriculum hub because SATAC does not publish per-subject scaled-score data — SACE Stage 2 is graded (A+ to E-). See our SA ATAR page and the SACE Board for the full syllabus reference.
How to use these pages
- Subject choice: read the official syllabus first (links on each subject row). Then check the scaling page to see how the subject's candidature performed in 2024. Scaling is a useful input, not the decisive one.
- Tutoring decisions: cross-reference with our by-subject rate data — some subjects (Specialist Maths, Maths Ext 2) carry a 20–25% tutoring premium because the qualified-tutor pool is small.
- ATAR planning: see the scaling calculator to test specific subject + raw-score combinations.
